  • Electrical: The majority of the nearly 3,000 violations in the investigation involved not following proper electrical installation safety requirements.
  • Machine Guarding: When machines are not properly guarded for safety, workers are at risk of getting a laceration on the finger, breaking a bone or crushing a hand. In 2009, machine-related incidents caused nearly 6,000 workers to suffer an amputation.
